A26 Frosses Road Enabling Work

Project Overview

Patrick Bradley Ltd carried out a scheme for the Department Of Regional Development Roads Service Consultancy under the Minor Improvements To Roads & Carparks Contract (MIN2) and the Minor Improvements To Roads & Carparks Infill Contract (DAM2)

The Scope

The scope of the work was to erect 14km temporary fence and carry out site clearance of all hedges, trees, bushes and existing fences/ ditches. Archaeology work was carried out over 4 months where 3no excavators were used to carefully strip the topsoil for investigations to take place.

Extensive traffic management was used for all operations. The speed limit was reduced to 40mph with road closures/diversions in place for removal of mature trees adjacent to the live traffic.

Scheme Value

The value of the scheme was £500k under the MIN2 contract & £200k under the DAM2 contract and was completed within 4 months. Site meetings took place every week with the client’s representative (ARUP) where topics discussed ranged from programme, health & safety, budget & delays.
